ClubCorp at the Masters
Juniors make an impact, members relish Southern hospitality

t April’s Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals, played the Sunday before the Masters in Augusta, Ga., eight junior members from ClubCorp clubs were among the event’s 80 competitors. In the Boys 10-11 division, Sahish Reddy from Laurel Springs Golf Club in Suwanee, Ga., finished first, with Patmon Malcom from Atlanta National Golf Club in Milton, Ga., a close second. Sara Im, also from Laurel Springs, tied for fourth in the Girls 14-15 division with Julia Misemer from Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate in Overland Park, Kan. Also in that division, Ryan Ko from TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas, placed sixth. In the Boys 12-13 division, Ryder Cowan from Oak Tree Country Club in Edmond, Okla., placed second and Jay Leng Jr. from Morgan Run Club & Resort in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., was fifth. Sophia Giga from Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco, Texas, took fifth in the Girls 7-9 group.
Throughout Masters week, ClubCorp’s hospitality area — set up at the Perrin Guest House Inn, an old cotton plantation about a mile from where the pros were competing — entertained about 800 members and guests. Visitors watched Tiger Woods’ victorious comeback on seven TVs, and also savored foods from the venue’s cook-to-order open kitchen. Audi shuttled guests to and from the course each day in various models, and Glenlivet provided premium cocktails and tastings at dinner.
