Teaming Up: Jaguar
Scoop: For more than 80 years, the iconic carmaker has crafted luxury sedans, sports cars, and SUVs with a reputation for being fast, beautifully designed, and desirable. The U.K.-based company, which has additional plants in Austria, Brazil, China, India, and Slovakia, stresses sustainability initiatives and social concerns in its manufacturing. The current lineup consists of the Jaguar XE and XF sports sedans, the XJ full-size luxury sedan, the two-seat F-Type sports car, and a line of performance SUVS — the E-Pace, F-Pace, and the electric I-Pace.
What’s new: The new-for-2019 Jaguar I-Pace — the brand’s first battery electric vehicle — features a supercar silhouette, the maneuverability of a sports car, the versatility of a five-seat SUV, and an EPA-estimated electric range of 234 miles. This year, the company upgrades its E-Pace, introduced in 2018, with new voice command navigation functionality and smart settings that learn drivers’ preferred settings. The F-Pace, now in its third year, gets a 2019 update including interior upgrades such as suedecloth headlining and illuminated treadplates and advanced driverassistant technology such as lane-keep assist.
