So You Want to … Turn Heads on the Fairway
BY KELSEY OGLETREE — Summer 2018
or more than two decades, Streetrod Golf Cars has produced the coolest cars with its retro-inspired Vintage line. This year, it takes a leap into the future with a sleek new collection of custom-made golf cars, named Lux, that will have you feeling like a high roller — on or off the fairway. Streetrod manufactures each fiberglass car to your specifications at its factory in Montezuma, Iowa. Choose gas (a 14-hp fuel-injected gas engine) or electric (a 48-volt power drive operating system), then decide the right configuration for you: a two-seater with a permanent bag rack is for golf only; a model with a backseat that converts to a bag rack or tailgated trunk space works for on- and off-the-course use; and one for legal street travel comes with features such as seat belts and automotive-style lights. Add personality with custom paint (we’re partial to look-at-me Flamenco Red Pearl, above, but you can’t go wrong with classy white). All the choices aside, it’s what comes standard that really makes Lux stand out. Each car has a premium Sony Bluetooth-enabled stereo system, USB ports, LED headlamps, an insulated cooler under the hood, and more to ensure you’re locked, loaded, and ready to drive.
